Grants and fellowships

Various constituencies within FIP are offering grants and/or fellowships to be able to attend the congress. Please find below an overview.


FIP Foundation Early Career Leadership Development Scholarship

The FIP Foundation, has partnered with the FIP Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG) and the FIP Regional Pharmaceutical Forums to award six scholarships to assist young pharmacists or pharmaceutical scientists to attend the congress and participate in the Leadership Development Workshop.

  • be pharmacists, pharmacy educators, or pharmaceutical scientists and have graduated within the past 8 years from their first degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences.
  • live and work or study in a country or territory with an income level classified as low, lower-middle or upper middle by the World Bank in the latest available classification. It is not mandatory that applicants are nationals of, or live in, countries or territories where FIP has member organisations.
  • Not have received financial support or a scholarship from the FIP Foundation previously.

The scholarship provides free registration, a reimbursement towards travel and accommodation costs and one-year Individual Membership of FIP.

FIP Academic Pharmacy Section (AcPS)

The FIP Academic Pharmacy Section is pleased to announce its intention, as included in the proposed 2026 budget, to provide travel grants in support of speakers accepted for AcPS-proposed sessions at the FIP World Congress in Montréal 2026. This initiative aims to promote strong representation and active participation from our global membership in sessions organised by the AcPS Section.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a travel grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be an active and current member of the AcPS Section.
  • Be an accepted speaker in a session officially proposed by the AcPS Section for the MontrĂ©al 2026 Congress.
  • Not be receiving speaker support from the main FIP Congress Programming Committee or from any other institution.
  • Provide proof of participation and registration for the Congress.
  • Provide proof of participation and congress registration.

Grant Details

  • The maximum grant amount available per speaker is €1,000.
    • Requests for funding exceeding this amount will require prior formal approval from the AcPS Executive Committee.
  • It is anticipated that approximately four (4) speakers will be supported under this programme.

Administration

The application, selection, and disbursement processes for the travel grants are managed annually by the AcPS Executive Committee, with oversight and implementation handled through the Finance Subcommittee.

FIP Community Pharmacy Section (CPS)

The Community Pharmacy Section, in collaboration with the FIP Foundation, is pleased to announce the Early Career Leadership Development Scholarship.
This joint initiative aims to foster and strengthen leadership skills among young professionals engaged in community pharmacy practice worldwide.

The selected scholar will receive financial support to participate in both the Leadership Development Workshop and the FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2026, to be held in Montréal, Canada.

The call for applications will be launched shortly. Applications will be submitted electronically through the FIP Foundation’s website.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a community pharmacist—either as an owner or employee;
  • Have graduated within the past eight (8) years from their first degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences;
  • Be a member of both the Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG) and the FIP Community Pharmacy Section (CPS);
  • Reside and work in a country or territory classified by the World Bank (latest available classification) as low-, lower-middle-, or upper-middle-income;
  • It is not mandatory that applicants be nationals of, or reside in, countries or territories where FIP has member organisations;
  • Applications will be evaluated according to the WHO region of the applicant’s country or territory of residence and professional activity, regardless of nationality.

FIP Health and Medicines Information Section (HaMIS)

The Health and Medicines Information (H&MI) Section will continue its Travel Grant Programme in 2026 to support pharmacists from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) who are working in the field of health and medicines information to attend the FIP World Congress in Montréal, Canada.

This initiative aims to enhance participation from LMICs and strengthen global collaboration and knowledge exchange within the H&MI community.

The format of the programme will follow the successful structure of previous years. Given the high number of applications received annually, the selection process is conducted in multiple stages. Applicants are evaluated and scored by the committee according to predefined criteria, which include:

  • Active membership in FIP;
  • Submission of an abstract to the FIP Congress;
  • Demonstrated ability to fund any remaining travel or accommodation expenses not covered by the grant;
  • Previous participation in FIP congresses; and
  • The overall motivation and potential impact of participation.

Grant Details

The grant provides:

  • A contribution of up to €1,000 towards travel and accommodation expenses; and
  • Coverage of the congress registration fee.

FIP Hospital Pharmacy Section (HPS) Basel Statement Research Grant

The FIP Hospital Pharmacy Section (HPS) supports high-quality research that advances hospital pharmacy practice worldwide. This grant aims to promote evidence-based improvements in policy and practice, particularly in alignment with the revised Basel Statements.

Research Focus Areas

While proposals in any area of hospital pharmacy practice are eligible, preference will be given to projects focusing on:

  • Seamless care
  • Medication safety
  • Interprofessional collaboration

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Principal Investigator (PI) must be a member of the FIP Hospital Pharmacy Section.
  • Grants are awarded to institutions, not individuals.
  • Graduate students may serve as Co-Principal Investigators, but not as PIs.
  • Projects must demonstrate clear relevance to hospital pharmacy practice and policy.

Grant and Application Details

  • Proposals must be submitted using the official FIP HPS Research Grant Application Form (maximum 10 pages).
  • No overhead costs are permitted.
  • Applicants must include a full financial plan if the project exceeds the requested funding, with letters of support from other funders when available.
  • Successful applicants will receive 50% of funds upon award and 50% upon submission of the final report.

FIP Industrial Pharmacy Section (IPS)

The FIP Industrial Pharmacy Section promotes the Mike How Travel Award. The award is granted to a young pharmacist or pharmacy student who have shown keen interest and passion for industrial pharmacy. It is a collaboration between the FIPs Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG), FIP’s Industrial Pharmacy Section, and the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). It supports ECPG or IPSF members involved in the development, manufacturing and regulatory aspects of pharmaceuticals and includes:

  • Up to € 1,500 to be used in support of transport, accommodation and registration for the congress.
  • Free attendance at the Industrial Pharmacy Section pre-satellite workshop at the FIP congress.
  • Invitation to the Industrial Pharmacy Section dinner.

FIP Social & Administrative Pharmacy Section (SAPS)

The FIP Social & Administrative Pharmacy Section established in 2020 the FIP SAPS Research Award to help encourage research into areas of interest for SAPS. Projects submitted should be relevant to SAPS and to FIP more broadly.

The uniting interest for SAPS is the organisation of pharmacy practice and the provision of evidence for decision-making in all areas related to pharmacy policy and advocacy.

SAPS has also built up special expertise in pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, research administration, quality assurance, pharmacoepidemiology, quality-of-life studies, epidemiology, patient satisfaction, professional society management, evaluation research, evidence-based practice, health planning, regulatory affairs and health policy investigations.
SAPS offers a €1,500 annual award to cover costs for the selected project and applicants must be members in good standing of the SAPS Section of FIP.
