Introduction:
This interactive session will explore how pharmacists can play a central role in advancing vaccination as a core component of patient care.
As the landscape of pharmacy-based immunization continues to evolve, there is increasing recognition of its broader clinical and public health value. In this context, a panel of experts will examine how to translate strategy into action. Through the sharing of best practices and practical discussion, the session will provide insights into planning and delivering sustainable vaccination services, engaging the entire pharmacy team, and systematically identifying and protecting eligible patients. Emphasis will be placed on integrating immunization into patient-centred care through individualised vaccination planning.
Programme:
Learning objectives:
1. Describe the global landscape of pharmacy-based vaccination and communicate shared objectives for pharmacists around the world.
2. Explain the broader public health and clinical value of vaccination, highlighting emerging evidence such as cardioprotective benefits.
3. Share key strategies and best practices to organise, implement and sustain pharmacy-based vaccination services, including service planning, workflow integration, and team engagement.
4. Discuss vaccination as a fundamental component of patient-centred care and approaches to individualised immunization planning in the context of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Take home messages:
Vaccination is no longer a standalone service—it is a fundamental component of patient-centred care.
By structuring services effectively and adopting systematic, individualised approaches, pharmacists can embed immunization into routine practice, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen their role in the health of their communities.
