Organised by the FIP Hub and Global Pharmaceutical Observatory Chair(s) Prof. Kirstie Galbraith, FIP Hub Director, Prof. Jill Boone, FIP Hub Steering Group Chair and Dr Sarah Dineen-Griffin, FIP Hub Director, & Prof. Ian Bates, FIP Global Pharmaceutical Observatory Director Introduction: To offer an update on the Call to Actions (CsTA) projects, advancement of the FIP Development Goals (DGs) and current workforce trends with the GPO. The FIP Hub has continued to drive progress in alignment with the FIP DGs, the global framework guiding transformation across pharmacy workforce, education, practice and science. A major focus for 2025-26 has been the continued advancement of the CstA projects, a roadmap developed with global experts and rooted in the DGs. These projects are designed to accelerate transformation in areas of high relevance to our members and the wider profession, including specialisation, digital transformation, emerging practice environments, mental health, gender equity, and prescribing. Together, these initiatives exemplify FIP’s commitment to building a flexible, future-ready profession capable of delivering person-centred care and innovation in pharmacy. This session will - Demonstrate how Hub projects are advancing the FIP DGs - Share updates, challenges, and emerging insights from CsTA projects - Showcase recent advancements in the FIP GPO. 11:05 – 12:00 Hub leads presentations on CstA project
- Pharmacists in new practice areas: A mixed-methods study on emerging roles, barriers, and essential competencies
- Global mapping and case studies of pharmacy specialisations
- Compilation of competency frameworks
- Creation of targeted training modules on digital health
- Scoping review and development of a position paper/guidelines on competencies and EPAs
- Development and analysis of prescribing competency frameworks
- Mental health and wellness initiative
12:00 – 12:25 GPO update and interactive group discussion
12:25 – 12:30 Closing remarks by the chairs
Learning objectives: 1. Define priority actions to accelerate CstA implementation and support FIP Member Organisations, regional forums and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) 2030 agenda. 2. Showcase CstA initiatives with FIP’s 2025-2030 strategic plan and FIP DGs. 3. Highlight key GPO initiatives and updated reports. Take home messages: By the end of this session, participants will understand how HUB initiatives support the FIP DGs, gain insights into recent GPO advancements, and see how these strategies align with global health priorities leading up to 2030. The session will also emphasize strengthening regional collaboration and advancing alignment with the UN SDGs.
